A technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.

Many years ago while browsing in a metaphysical bookstore, I saw a sign that read, “Reiki Treatments available” After talking at length with the Reiki Master, I decided to book a session that day.

During my Reiki session, I felt a subtle pulsing of energy radiating throughout my body that gave rise to a feeling of peace, calmness and ultimately a feeling of complete relaxation. My body was pain-free. This feeling lasted for a few days; I was hooked and decided to become a practitioner of Reiki.

Reiki is an ancient healing art from Tibet, which uses qi (vital life force energy) to access and accelerate the body’s own natural healing ability. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on-healing modality that helps release blockages through the placing on-of-hands in a specific hand sequence. During this process, Reiki energy is transferred from the Reiki practitioner to the client.  This can be done in person and Reiki can also be transferred remotely.

Reiki is holistic and complements other alternative healing modalities as well as allopathic medicine. It is safe for pregnant women and babies.

The numerous health benefits to receiving Reiki include:

  • Calming the nervous system
  • Restoring energy and vitality
  • Lowering blood pressure
  • Increasing mental clarity and focus
  • Balancing the organs and chakras
  • Finding inner peace
  •  Relieving pain

Over the years, my passion for Reiki has never waned, and in 2007, I became a Reiki Master.
