Chi Nei Tsang (Chinese Abdominal Massage) is an effective way to clear toxins out of the body and increase circulation thereby promoting optimum health. It is a powerful aid to healing physical and emotional digestion.
Here are a few guidelines and suggestions to help prepare the body for receiving Chi Nei Tsang and what to expect before, during and after the treatment.
On the day of your Chi Nei Tsang session, I highly recommend eating healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables and lean protein. Foods to avoid include white flour, sugar, dairy, alcohol, caffeine and fried foods as they may cause abdominal pain, gas and bloating. Do not eat an hour before your appointment, but DO NOT FAST.
For your Chi Nei Tsang session, be sure to wear loose, comfortable clothing such as drawstring or yoga pants and a t-shirt. During the massage, gentle strokes are used to palpate the fascia or connective tissue between the organs, muscles and tendons. Because obstructions or blockages are released, mild discomfort may occur which is only temporary. However, if the body is very toxic, there could be fatigue, slight nausea or emotional release symptoms such as crying after the session which is perfectly normal and part of the detoxification process. Sometimes symptoms could temporarily worsen before they get better as the body is healing itself. This could take a day or two.
After your Chi Nei Tsang session, continue eating healthy foods and avoid overeating. Drink extra water after the session and for 1-2 days afterwards as the body is still purging itself of toxicity. Another remedy that is helpful after receiving Chi Nei Tsang is drinking ginger root tea which aids in digestion and is also helpful for nausea. Taking an Epsom salt bath is highly recommended as well. Regarding exercise, gentle stretching, yoga and leisurely walks are encouraged. Avoid vigorous exercise, stressful activities and limit your exposure to cell phones, computers and other electronic gadgets if possible. Since the body repairs itself during sleep, it is important to get plenty of rest.
I look forward to working with you soon.
